These pics were taken from the set of Kevin Smith's Clerks 2 shoot. Which will release to theaters in July.

God I would a close pic of that dolly, so I can make it. I saw somewhere online a REAL tabletop dolly, have not found since.. but would love to see it again, it ran like 2 or 3 thousand.

I should also state, that the one I am looking for has a rounder look and is able to be push around an object so basically 360 degrees. Ie. Around a bottle. All this without a track :)

Hi SurJones,

Looks like you may want the "Skater Mini" from P+S Techhnik. It's really good for product shots (moves 360 degrees with no track), but it also can be used for any other type of dolly shot you can think of.

There's an online demo that's pretty comprehensive. It's a little more than your budget - around $3,900 without accessories.

Hope this helps.

PR.

Axisdolly gets my vote for the worst product website of 2006.
Damn it at least fix the links people!

I know, guys... the site is POOR! This is only a temporary site while the real site is being built. It was only put up last week as a place holder. The full site will be far more impressive.

The site might look bad but the product looks very solid and well built. I love indy film guys. Hmm lets make a product that does what one does for 5K and improve it and sell it for less than 1K. I'd love to see some demo footage from this thing looks good though.

Also what the setups look like. All very wll and good to have something that has little skate wheels which will do a nice curve on a perfectly smooth surface - what about a move around a character in a field, or perhaps on a street?

The Track is 99% of the problem - dollies are fairly simple and cheap.

The only innovative track I've seen that's even remotely reasonably priced (and portable) is the Losmandy track, but it's limited.

The track I'm building is cool, but it's nothing like a perfect solution - anyone out there have a _FULL_ system that does variable radial moves and linear moves, is portable and less than $5k?

:)
