Hey guys, i want to learn how to work in AE 7.0, should i buy this book, or there are some other, better books out there? How about video tutorials? I love creativecow, but i think i still need to do a lot of learning first...
Thanks, Ansis
I didn't like it, as the lessons didn't seem to go anywhere. Get Andrew Kramer's training DVD, "Serious Effects and Compositing." It is easy for a beginner and has techniques that you'll use outside of the tutorials themselves (which means you'll learn the AE tools and what they actually do, which is the most important part of straightening the After Effects learning curve)
His DVD can be purchased at http://www.videocopilot.net. He also has a boatload of free tutorials there as well. At $50.00, I think the DVD is the same price I paid for the AE 7.0 Classroom book!
If you are a beginner please don't buy this book it is just a waste of money. I bought the book and stopped reading after chapter 9 because I haven't learned anything. buy lynda.com AE 7 essential or better yet the total training AE 7 pro essentials.
I actually liked this book. It had some good lessons on general AE 7 stuff including Color Correction, Keying and Animation. I'm reading AE7 Studio Techniques currently which is fantastic.
