redrock micro and Zacutto

Hi.

I have a HVX-200. Now I want a M2 from Redrock, and a baseplate from Zacutto.
Does someone know if this works with eachother.
Or how put I these things together.
Has someone experience with this, or another solution.
I have to put a harddrive on it and a monitor.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, this combo works really well, particularly if you put stuff on the back --- it really helps to balance the rig. I have seen it for myself (though I don't have one). You have to get the extra long rods as well.

Redrock and Zacuto is a great combo! Throw in a Petroff mattebox, and then you would be slammin!

It only works if you use a different fastener in place of the knob that you use to tighten the RR FF to the rails.

Do either of you other guys actually own the zacuto plate and the RR FF?

Anyway - not a hard problem to solve but it annoyed me enough that I decided to sell it.

The two will definitely work together per my contact at Zacuto. Contact Zacuto for any additional rails/adapters which they can provide.

...So...Just trying to clarify...if I bought the M2 with its mounting system and rails....and then bought the Zacuto back plate and the rails for IT...the two rail systems will screw into each other?....and that battery system from Zacuto?... Any opinions?

I've got the Zacuto Mount with front and back rails system. I've also ordered a Red Rock MicroFF which is on the way. Can you explain a little more what you meant by the above. Sounds like I need some extra parts, can you advise me which and where to source them?

Thanks

Zacuto told me that you would need an extension to the front rails which they could provide. There might also be a need for some mounting hardware. I would definitely recommend that you get in touch with Zacuto to figure out how to do it.

I had quite a few conversations with Zacuto before I bought the system as I wanted to make sure the M2 would work with this setup, but at the time I did not mention the MicroFF. I'm guessing turing is referring to shimming the MicoFF which is fine as I've ordered another shim kit, but just wanted to be sure.

The front rods that come with the system are not long enough for the whole M2 setup, so you need extra rods. Not sure about other rod systems, but the Zacuto rods have inside threads so you can screw in the back rods, so you can't use any old 15mm rods. Zacuto's Rod extensions are $70 per pair of 8" rods.
