Pirates Of The Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest

"Someone" said that Depp was in full character even when not filming and that people couldn't even talk to him. rumors... And Jack Sparrow doesn't die son, he's a pirate and part 3 is coming out next spring staring Keith Richards. That i gotta see.

why would they kill jack? he's like the only thing that makes the series work. and studios know that.

jsut saw it. I don't think I've ever seen a movie thats pumped me up more than this movie and the last one. Everything was just sooo well done, and its so fun to watch. You have to be a heartless bastard not to like these movies.

the only thing I'm pissed about is having to wait another year to see the rest.

Just came back from seeing it and i would give it a rating of 8/10 ... it had the comedy but i still liked the 1st one better but now i'm in wait for the 3rd on to see how that turns out. Great film over all.

Saw the 12:10 showing up it. It was good but thought it was a little long. It does leave you wanting more. I laughed at most of the jokes and thought the effects were outstanding. And it gives a perfect setup for the 3rd one. Can't wait to see that! Over all 9/10...

Just saw it and what great fun it was!!!! Just as good as the first. I love how they keep tying scenes to the original ride.
What a great privilege for Johnny Depp to have his character Captan Jack Sparrow immortalized in the remodeled ride at Disneyland. How cool is that!

i have a big problem with it for 2 reasons. A) cause its a movie based on a ride not a ride based on a movie. B) Pirates was the last ride Walt Disney worked on himself. It was originally a walk through ride but then after ALL of the ride was completed Disney said it wouldnt work and had them tear it all down and start from scratch to make it the ride it is today. It's nostalgic because it was the last ride Disney worked on himself, and now they've gone and ruined it IMO.

i love the movies but that ticked me off

Well Walt himself said there would always be emagineers improving on his dream! The original ride at Disneyland showed that. Just some open space to be made into something!!

Can someone PM me with the ending? The film broke/melted with no more than 10 minutes left. I was EXTREMELY ticked. I liked the movie but don't want to sit though 2 1/2 hours just to see the end.
Anyone?
Much appreciated!

Went and saw the movie tonight. Really liked it, except for the cliffhang ending... also it seemed to have too many plotlines in spots... It was cool seeing the name of the actor I just cast in my film!

The only thing it has to do with Disney is the production. If it's a movie based on a ride then it's a movie and a ride based on pirates, obviously. There is more to it than just Disney and Johnny Depp. The only reason i say this is because they were real men and it isn't just "a ride at Disneyland." The movie is very similar to some old pirate stories except for the curse, cracken, and men of barnacles. In the late 1600's early 1700's Pirates or "Privateers" were men from France and England that were hired to take control of enemy ships and boats. They were paid very little to do a job in defense of their country at sea that led to loot'n and sack'n. Some were under order of the Queen that had no intent of killing but eventually did becuase it was the only way to better themselves as they discovered. Which is where much of the mystery comes in, because men lived at sea for years always after another ship or port never to return to their homeland. Many died at sea from scurvy. If you read any old stories "they" knew where other ships were going, what they had on them, how many men they had, it was real stuff and it wasn't always a party it was harsh. They had to endure weeks without much food or fresh water. In the movie they refered to Tortuga which was where some of these men lived. Before africans were enslaved in jamaica (port royal) spanish settlers and pirates ran the cane business. They sailed across the seas to and fro the carribean with these "habits" and turned it in to a way of life. If you want a really great read about pirates look up "A Pirate of Exqusite Mind" the life of William Dampier. Now we just think of pirates and treasures and fairy tale stuff. Disney did a great job but it isn't just a movie and a ride, its a crazy piece of history and how men use to live. Now we have everything at our fingertips and get frustrated when the damn DSL drops out... What a way to put life into perspective, we have it easy, today. Why i wrote all this i dunno either...

Just saw it, and I have to say it is easily one of the most entertaining movies I've seen lately. They expand upon the first one in so many ways and really deliver a movie worthy of calling a summer blockbuster. Oh, and it broke the one-day record of SWIII, earning $55 million on Friday (including late-night screenings). This is a MUST-see on the big screen!

yeah, i went to a show at 11am here in wisco and the theater was packed, im not surprised it broke the record.

I was blown away by the CGI/makeup in this movie. Phenomenal stuff, i was pissed with the cliffhanger because the first flick had a definite end, but i guess the middle movie always leaves you wanting more.

I really liked it... want to see again... I heard the opening weekend numbers are going to break a ton of records.
