shockmounts for short mics

How bad is it to use a regular shockmount with a short hyper? My shock is the Senn, with arms about 3.5 - 4 inches apart, that's worked OK with an ME66.

The sabra som is a pretty great shockmount because it's so easily adjustable.

The K-tek GPSS is my choice but the KSSM is great too.

My choice for short mics is the AT 8415 with the K-tek suspenders. B&H usually has this as a package deal - don't try to use the standard suspenders...the microphone will constantly be falling out.
