bags, bags and more bags, how many does one need?

cool little "title"
Okay, I bought a Pelican cast 1510 for camera. I have a Cinebag for other gear.
But that doesn't seem to be enough. I need to buy another pair of headphones,
more microphones, more cables, how is it all going to fit in that Cinebag? What
about the 4x4 filters I still need to buy, where they going to fit? I also need to
buy a grip bag at a local hardware store or Walmart.

Seriously, I feel like all I do is buy bags to hold stuff. How many bags does a
person need? Gah.

I need to order a Pelican myself....

right now I'm using a makeshift camera bag that barely holds just the camera.

Yeah Charli, I'm addicted to bags myself. My dvx came with a bag, but I bought a pelican and use the free bag for cables, mics, etc. Then I bought a new laptop and had to but a bag for that. After a couple of weeks of not buying any bags I decided that I needed a backpack for my dvx that would hold my laptop as well. So yeah, bags, bags, and more bags.

Don't forget a tripod bag. Ha! I'm drowning in cordura and nylon. Assuming my Stormcase 2950 doesn't crush me first.

Don't forget the new Petrol PCPR-1 bag. It's still carry on size but a huge soft bag that will dang near hold just about everything you need to go with your cam. I agree also with the cinebag, it's easy to fill as well. This new Petrol bag IMO smokes anything else in the softbag realm.

I feel your pain.

I originally thought as I was going to be doing some shooting myself that I'd just get one bag to fit all [yeah right...]. I took tbanucci's advice and got a kata backpack. I got the HB-207 which is just an awesome bag. It fits camera, mic, headphones, batteries, laptop, filters, emergency vegemite sandwich... the works. and I can hang my tripod off it with the supplied tripod holder. And I'm STILL finding pockets on it.

But it's still not enough. I now have small camera light, battery for that [damn batteries!!], small gel roll, gaffer tape, and all that other misc stuff to lug. I would love to get the cinebag, but in Australia it's really expensive. So I am going to invest in a cheapish roller/duffel bag, and put my smaller bags, which are different sized army surplus bags categorised by lighting, grip and electrics etc. into the duffel.

I'll have my stuff inside pouches inside bags inside bags...

So, theoretically, I can have my backpack on my back and drag the duffel. I'll look like Quasimodo but I will still be mobile. Sort of.

Bags bags bags bags...

I like to use the 'roll away' type of luggage bags for things like, cables, batteries etc....They are sturdy, cheap and roll away!
