$1,000 to spend on light...

I am getting ready to buy some lights and have $1,000 to spend. Currently I do not have any lights. I will be filming mostly interview and short scenes for a documentary. I would like some feedback of what ways some of you all would go.

I have been thinking about the Britek's, Lowel (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...&Q=&sku=260848&is=REG&addedTroughType=search), Videssence (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...746&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation) or One Arri 350 and One Arri 650. What's your thoughts?

Thanks!

Lowel DP w/ Chimera Video Plus softbox and an Arri 350 fresnel would be my vote.

They will last you a while, something to add to, not replace.

I'd recommend looking at www.flolight.com to get one of their $349 fluorescent two-banks as your main softlight/key source. Your interview subjects will very much appreciate having a cool fluo instead of a hot softbox as their key.

That's a good idea. I need to look into getting some of those

Thanks for the suggestion. What a good stand for the flolight and the arri lights? I am looking for something good but also that collapses pretty small.

Britek lights work great for me. I've used both Lowel and Britek and the Briteks seem much more durable to me. Very well built with more features such as switching from 300W to 600W. The stands I got were pretty bad though. Might want to invest in better stands. But yeah, for half the price of a lowel kit, you can get better lights.
