I shot some footage for a film project and I can't go back to reshoot some footage. I think I might have shot some footage on F5 - 24p and my film is shot on F6 -24pa.

I noticed that this happens when I put footage other than 24pa footage on my timeline.

Now I have tried to use de-interlace filter on the one scene I shot almost all on F5. Some shots were shot on F6 (a different day). using the filter eliminates the horizontal lines.

My question is will it look fine if I just use the de-interlace filter when I make a DVD? Or if I print to tape? Will I have problems later on? Or should I not use the F5 footage with F6 footage at all?

Thanks so much!

This is an easy one to fix - if you're looking to make a 24p deliverable, just capture the 24p footage as 24p, and the 24pA footage with 24pA settings, and put it all on a 24p timeline and you're good to go. Which is which? 24p footage has three non-interlaced frames then 2 interlaced frames, 24pA has 4 non then 1 interlaced frame.

Now, if we're talking CineGamma modes, then you need to come up with a color correction to try and make'em look similar. Otherwise, you are in trouble.

Never, ever, under any circumstances, de-interlace progressive footage. It just ruins your footage.

You can put your F5 footage on a 24p timeline just fine. Just remove the pulldown. Go into Cinema Tools and tell it to remove the pulldown, it'll get rid of the interlace lines and make the footage compatible with your other footage.

I just tried it with one clip, now the few shots I accidentaly shot on F5 works with the rest of the movie shot on F6. Cinema Tools fixed it.

Thanks so much!!!!
