firefox or safari

[Bsmith]

I just got a new macbook. this isn't the first time I've used a mac but I know nothing about safari or safari compared to firefox. I was jsut wondering, am I safe with safari or should I get firefox.

thanks

I use both, though Firefox seems to handle IE optimized web sites better than Safari. Firefox also supports 3rd party toolbars like the Google toolbar.

Yeah, Safari blows. I'm a little less of a Mac user these days, but it hasn't impressed me. I was at a friends house trying to show him some Google video stuff. Not only did the page layout totally change from IE to Safari for the worse, but several videos that are still there were unavailable through Safari. As evil as Microsoft is, IE works very well and all the plugins and downloads just seem to work since it has become a standard, at least in the corporate world.

Kneel before Zod! Use IE if you want all web content to work. Just make sure the damn stuff is well patched!
