Panasonic BT-LH1700W - calibrating & general monitoring question

Hi.

I have the abovementioned monitor (Love it BTW), and would like calibrating sugestions for different uses:

On set

Post for different output:
TV (HD-PAL)
TV (SD-PAL)
Web
HD projector (pro)
Projector (consumer)

I know this is not rated as a production level monitor for CC, still it's my best bet at the moment and a far cry better than HD-Link/Cinema 23" solution I've used thus far. (NOT happy, but I think some goes back to less flexibility in PAL than NTSC for the last software I used)

I monitor from a Declink Pro HD card (4:2:2) via SDI out to the panny 17.

On set via component from the HVX.

I still need the monitor calibrated for different output solutions in post.

The factory settings seems dark and "yellow-like". But I do not really want to fiddle too much just to make it look "good".

The film-gamma settings are maybe good for big screen HD projections?
But should I use the Varicam settings?

Sorry for the (maybe) dumb questions here, but I'd love some response (or links) from fellow users.

Because of the unusefullness of 720 in PAL land, I basically shoot in 1080 psf.

The monitor is set up with SMPTE bars, BTW

The monitor is set up with SMPTE bars, BTW

So I understand how to do that, and that should solve the SD-TV part of the question.
But I think I once saw that there was difference in SD and HD calibrating...

Still I'm wondering about different uses.

This product is so new for us here in the US, that not many people had a chance to play with it. I just got mine the other day. It was the first time my installer actually had his hands on it, heard a lot of incredible stories about it, but never got a chance to set it up.
I only had it for a few days now and I am still getting use to it. I was calibrating the color bars on the blue gun and noticed that factory settings were not perfect, a little minor adjustments. I noticed the yellow like you did, but really minor adjustment.
I am using the Varicam settings for my HD output since I am using the HXV as my primary camera.
On thing I noticed being so use to seeing and working with HD for a while now is that when I inserted a master DV tape I made a few months ago, I was SHOCKED at how bad it looked compared to HD. I know there is a difference, but I have to say, when i compared the two formats next to each other, I couldn't believe how big of a difference there is. I thought at the time before HD my DV master looked good. Now I never want to go back!

I do have to say, I wasn't impressed at all with the Waveform in the monitor, but I do like the split screen option. Sorry Gunleik, this didn't help you much, but I will be just now getting into this monitor and what it will do.
