Since I got out of school yesterday I have had lots of time and I just figured I would do a panorma a my back yard. I used the Gimp for all of the post corrections (ya I knows theres some seams and stuff)

Before

After

First Impression:
I'm jealous of people who have a backyard... I live in an apartment.

Second Impression:
I like the image and without looking really close I don't see the seems. It looks good and while the colors are more balanced it is sort of a dull image. The correction is good though, but the picture itself just seems to lack a lot of depth to make it really shine.

Just my opinion.

Ya, I see what you're saying. I shot his on a little 5 megapixel nikon coolpix so I didn't really have any choice for what came out, the camera just captured it. I looked at the picture a little more and decided if I cropped my house out it would look better. So here it is:

I think that without the house it looks better, but the image isn't just that interesting and maybe it is because of the infinite DOF or... well I don't know.

I like the image and creativity it took in order to pull this off though, I haven't tried to do one of these yet.

Ya didn't you just get a d50? Anyways, I found this very easy. I used Photo Stich and I mostly used clone to take stuff out/ put stuff in. I found that cloning the grass was very simple and its almost unnoticable.

Yeah I just got my D50 but I've had other misc. digital crap cameras for a while... Now I just can change the lenses.

I think it's really cool and looks good.

EDIT:

After staring at this thing for a while longer I think if you add a couple more things in the immediate foreground such as that yard candle or whatever it is (I love the curved shadow on it though), but if you add a couple of those, even with some gausian blur, that will go ahead and increase the DOF effect and really help this image... Just my opinion, I don't know what I'm talking about most of the time.

OK, I spent like three minutes to see if I could do what I was saying in the above post and here is what I came up with. I don't think it really works as well as I thought it might, but maybe with some more time invested it could work. Regardless of any of the opinion I've tossed out there, I still think it's a pretty cool thing you've done.

BTW: I'm a complete Photoshop moron, so I don't really know what I'm doing at all.... Just an idea I had.

I just had an idea to maybe replace on of the frames with a person walking by the border of the plants. I'm thinking that matching the exact shadows and time of day is gonna be tough- I have to check what time I took the pics. I'm gonna see what I can to with that tommorow. I'm going to bed- its late.

I like the panorama style, but you definitely need to find a good subject for the shot. I'm not feeling the backyard.

I don't know if Isaac will agree with me, but a hot chick will really hold my attention.

Ya, I was just experimenting with photoshop stuff, thats why I posted it. I don't really like the plain look of the picture either
