Proper extension cables to power DVX?

Hey guys, I will do a shoot using 3 camcorders including the dvx. I'm looking for the right extension cords for these cameras so they are all powered from the same source.

I will need extension cords (and a surge if you think I need it) really long so I can move around in the room with all cameras. I just want to make sure I get the right cables that won't harm the cameras in anyway because it will require a lot of electrical power I'm assuming.

uhhhhhh.......no.

cams don't suck a lot of power. any extension cord / power strip will work. why not just use battery and save yourself the trouble????

Yeah I just found it in the manual it doesn't take many watts.

About the battery I hate using it and worrying that I'm going to run out, but the battery on the DVX actually lasts a good while I've noticed.

the standard dvx battery is ok but i got some 5600mah generics on ebay that last ALL DAY. i have two of them but i rarely have to use the second one. you can pick them up for $20-$30 each.

nice but what is it called? what is "5600mah"?

That's how much juice/power the battery has. The higher the number the longer it last. Take a look at your standard dvx battery and see what the number is

Actually the standard battery that came with my DVX says 5400mah on it ...?

Did you buy the camera at the time of the rebate ? Because if so it came with a Larger battery plus the smaller one.

yeah I did; btw, it only came with the larger battery, not an additional smaller one.

Thats cool but is it alright to use a non-Panasonic battery on the DVX100. I dont want a $30 product messing up a $4000 one ;)

i've been using mine for months with no issues. i suspect that even the panny batteries are made elswhere and pakaged with the panny logo on them......
