24p PAL Premiere 2.0 project start problem

Hi,

I am having trouble figuring out how to start a project that was shot on DVX in Premiere 2.0. It was shot on 24p but it is in PAL. And when you choose 24p in Premiere, only available aspect ration is in NTSC.

If I start a project as a normal DV - PAL? Will I loose some quality of the 24p?

How do I make it 24p in PAL?

The only difference I notice however is something Drop-Frame Timecode numbering? What is it? Hm.

Hopefully someone in Europe here who had the same problem and can help me out.

Thank you.

when we start with pro 2.0, it has often become trouble, maybe, because of crack.
for instance, when I used it first begining time,it had been same case.

in ppro 2, they don't give you that option, if you choose 24p you can't change it to 25p, if you choose PAL you can't change from interlace (upper first/lower first) to progressive, so you can't select DV PAL as your editing mode

What you have to do, in Custom Settings, select Desktop editing mode and make sure the settings like frame size are correct (if you select DV PAL first and change it to Desktop, the PAL settings remain)
and then simply change the Fields parameter to No Fields (Progressive Scan)
Save the preset and that's it

I opened a pp1.5 25P project in pp2 and I now realize it "lost" the progressive setting and exported videos are defined is interlaced (which makes encoding to MPEG longer) so you should check if this happens with new projects

What about choosing the export video device for it to properly show on my camera when editing. I played around with it, but it just wouldn't show on my camera. when normal PAL DV works. Thank you for the advice so far.
