Barry KNOWS that I am a huge fan of Rick Schmidt (Feature Filmmaking at Used Car Prices) and I just recieved a package with 5 of his movies from the Green one! I had only been able to see 1988 The Remake (at a fest screening with Rick in attendence) and was REALLY wanting to see more, especially Emerald Cities which I now have....

Barry, I will have my slaves begin working on your monument right away!

So who is THE coolest man alive? I'm going to have to give just a wee little edge to Mr. David Mathew Bonner, or dMb, The Godfather of the wedding video underground....WATCH THIS! (right click save pls)

So for any of you who remember me this is what I've been emersed in for the last while. I got my DVX to make movies and quit my job (wife suggested it while honeymooning in Montana in Oct 04, quit Nov 04) at Cingular Tech Support and soon found her income insufficent for even our VERY humble lifestyle.

So I figured wedding videos would be a quick way to use my love and investment to make $ but dreaded the though cause I wanted to make MOVIES! Well, I started weddingdaymovies and discovered David and my whole life was changed. It's not that I try to emulate him, clearly I neither can nor try, but he showed me the creative potential that was there for the taking within the wedding video world, and it has launched me into things I could have never forseen nor imagined.

So now I've Sold My Soul To Wedding Video and I am very grateful. I'm 32 years old and until I had the vision that led me to make movies in 02 I had no idea what I was going to do with my life, so.....he is a saint in my personal book, and wedding video has saved my life.....it all began with a vision and the discovery of DVXuser and the purchase of two DXV's. I've found video to be the most satisfying art I have ever tried, and that would make a significant list! If yall are just looking at this thread and thinking its silly and not watching the clips, your loss!
 
Hate to disagree with you, Daniel, but I consider Barry Green THE Coolest man alive! I'd like to meet him some day, but it looks like, when I'm on the mainland US in two weeks, he'll be in Hawaii. I guess that's the closest I'll ever get to the coolest man alive.

I wonder how many threads have been created that say, "Thanks Barry Green". I'm guessing, A LOT!
 
P.K. , Regarding that top secret Save The World project I mentioned to you some time ago........all is running smoothly....still broke, but the vision is strong and when you couple solid idea (vision) with focus and accurate, sustained and adequate effort there is no way you can fail short of a sabotage.

Yes, Barry too has been a significant figure in my life. Discovering Barry is what made me as professionally seeing as I have grown to become. Before I had observed and learned from Barry I was just a kid. It was reading his yodaisms on business, negotiation, client psychology and so on that led me to the promise land on handling that end of things. You may indeed consider me the Love Child of Barry Green and dMb. As a matter of fact, a couple of years ago I was planning to build a website called Barry Greens Greatest Hits and was going to see if Barry would let me sell CD's of me reading and discussing some of the wisdom he had shared. I think I'm going to still do this one day, but it will be available as a free podcast and I'll just stick it up here.

Honestly the whole thing got ruined by the video clips that showed barry because the whole site played off of his mystery, just fun stuff. I wish I would have remembered to show it to him! I'll post the one I do later here. It might be a while though cause I'm backed up 7 wedding videos now and have more on the way to the pile.

I cant believe I forgot P.K., by the way, as he is one of my Love Fathers too, as a matter of fact, dMb is The Godfather, Barry is the Smart Father and P.K. is the Love Father of the trilogy that have given me birth! Thanks guys, seriously!

No kiddin man! I have never seen that at any other forum or community.....I'm pretty sure I've witnessed at least 4 devoted threads to just that purpose. That man is going to have no troubles getting into the good place.

Hey PK, when are you landing in the US? I'm not leaving for the grand New Zealand tour until the 26th of June.

And every time he makes with a modest little reply....you know it feels good Mr.G, go ahead and bask in it every now and then! You have no idea how much I value the opportunity to see those movies. Yep.....Rick's yet another of my Fathers, no doubt. I had a religious experience during Showboat 1988 (its REAL title).
