dont you guys just love those movies like crash that portay a message that shows how messed up people are and how we are all connected and what not?? does anyone know any other movies like this?? with clever editing and filming techniques and a great story line with good actors?? they can be mainstreem or indy?

I'm not a fan of "Crash," but check out some great Altman movies like "Nashville" and "Short Cuts," which feature large ensemble casts and very loosely connected storylines.

Also Richard Linklater's brilliant "Slacker" and "Dazed and Confused," and George Lucas's "American Grafitti."

I really enjoyed Crash. Although for me Magnolia (an outstanding film) pretty much takes the cake - a large ensemble of messed up, interwoven characters dealing with some pretty weighty subject matter. Ridiculously good performances - Julianne Moore is quite amazing.

Certainly very influenced by Altman's Short Cuts but hey...

I have not seen crash, but Lost in Translation might be the film you are lookong for.

inarritu's movies - there are ALWAYS people connected - he needs to get some new ideas.
amores perros, 21 grams, and from reading the plotline - babel.

One good one that has that whole "connected" feeling is "Changing Lanes" with Ben Affleck (I know) and Samuel L. Jackson. It's actually very cool.

Changing Lanes

Another "connected" feeling is Arlington Road with Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins. It's very cool and it really plays with who is good and who is evil.

Arlington Road

Yeah these are much better examples of connective storylines than the garden-variety appeal of Crash :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

In a more lighter note, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch were very entertaining.

Also, I don't know if anyone has seen the "Kingdom"series by Lars Von Trier- those were excelent (not the Stephen King Americanized TV series)

Traffic is another example, but I didn't really like it.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is also an example of this.
