Yes, I've taken the MySpace plunge

I have myspace and please add me if you do:

If you will notice on my friend's list, the few that I have, are interested in the filmmaking bizness in one angle of another. Click on "Totally Unauthorize" and go to her blog, she's a gaffer and has been on movie sets like Fast & Furious, MIII, etc. She has interesting stories about the ins and outs of the industry.

Myspace is a great way to meet fellow filmmakers. I hooked up with a guy from North
Bay area and I may see him this fall, he might bring his crew down to shoot at
the hotel I work at in Santa Cruz.

looking forward to your entry (entries?) Aram ... did you wind up doing that small project in addition to your more elaborate one for the fest?

The gal's name is Peggy Archer on myspace on my friend's list. She's the one with
the Totally Unauthorize blog. Click on her myspace then click on her blog.

I don't think I'm getting it.

People just come to my page and say things like "you rock" and I cannot respond to them without going to their page and putting a comment there.

So you just have this collection of questions or shout outs collected on your page with your answers somehwere els on someone elses page?

what's the point of that?

or am I missing something?

You've got it. There is no point. But it's still a great way to meet women. :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

That's why I prefer the private message feature. The comments thing is just too weird if you actually want to have a conversation.

And after all the smack I've always talked about MySpace, I've been able to land a VERY talented VFX artist in less than 24 hours with a broadcast bulletin to all of my new "Friends" (359 & counting).

Telling you folks, take the time to do a search for people in the film industry, and then start sending out the invites. It's a pretty time consuming process, but I can already tell you from just this one VFX save I've gotten for our short, that it was time well spent.

I (Josh) sent out a few invites. I also use it for my personal life beyond my proffessional life. The group I work with has a link in my top 8. If you'd like to forgo the personal stuff.

New Profile Layout

New Profile Layout

Totally sickened by how cool Jack Daniel Stanley's MySpace layout looked, and the fact that someone said they didn't like my pastel green :) , I've been on the hunt to come up with something a little more edgey & cool.

What'cha think?: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=74084843

Still not as uber cool as Jack's, or Edgen (Justin Durban's), but I think it'll do the trick for a little bit ... unless someone can point me to a cooler layout?

BTW, for those who may not have known this, I just read in the TERMS of MySpace, under option 6, that ANYTHING that is posted in MySpace they have the legal right to use for their purposes (and even sublicense) without reimbursement to the originator ... meaning, DON'T post your trailers, stories, etc. on MySpace ... you can have links to your original material else where, but I'd caution from putting actual intelectual property on that place with the current terms, just to be safe.
