Anybody know a good mac repair shop in L.A.?

be sure to check the Apple support pages first for suggestions and info.
Could be a dead battery, bad conntacts or somethign else. Porbably not the powerbook itself.

no it runs on the battery but won't charge it. i thought the battery was shot so i ordered a new one. it ran fine on the charge that it shipped with but the comp won't charge it. my old battery is prob still good. only a year old...

so anyone know a good shop. i used to go to "the mac guys" down in OC but they are high and slow.

Cheeze-

First of all, my Powerbook is starting to do the same thing. I think it's the power supply being roughed up on the side where the power connection goes. It does not matter if you are out of warranty, you can still bring your Mac into any Apple store and they will diagnose and repair any problem- albeit with a fee of course. I have seen them work on old Mac Classics even....

my power adapter is brand new and it powers it fine. it's something internal. anyone know a mom and pop that fixes macs? from prior experience, apple charges a grip.

I'm not talking about the "adapter". Internally, the adapter connects to a power supply which distributes power to the internal components, such as the motherboard, cd drive, and battery compartment. The connection between these two points may be screwed.

It's getting harder and harder to find the mom and pop shops that do Macs. In San Jose, the Apple store has pretty much run them out of business.

MACMALL.com has a retail outlet on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica. They have a service department there - I've never had any work done there but have purchased a G4 & G5 from 'em.
