What are you wanting to use an animated gif for? DV-sized video?

Yup, for my shorts which I'll be creating with my DVX. I meant animated logo, but had animated gif stuck in my head. My bad.
Thanks,
Alex

Ah, well that can be easily enough done once you decide on a logo.

You'll probably get a better logo faster if you go ahead and provide some feedback and direction for what sort of thing you're looking for.

Thats what they used to call me on the basketball courts around the city I used to play at. It meant the white guy with black guy skillz.

You're right! I forgot to mention the direction. I am looking for something related to chocolate milk swirling with a spoon in a glass sense. Definitely not looking for a booty juice type of image:) I'm open to see what can be done. I'm looking for something playful and possibly childlike. I am also open to a more traditional looking logo but I would prefer something playful. I'm open to just about anything. Just to give you a guage, I liked the second logo you put up. It was a nice look that visually matched the idea of chocolate milk through the color.

Well, i have no booty but have a great shooty
never messed around with a girl named Judy
Chocolate milk when cold goes down real smoothy
release me on the court and I will do my duty

So far this is in the lead. Owen, can you add "presents" to the title for the opening shot. This will be the image associated with the production company name unless there is a better design. Also can you send me the photoshop file?
Thanks so much,
Alex

damn how could i have missed this thread for so long!

I like the one that looks like a plaque. I thought it had a cool Juxtoposition of Formality, and Chocolate milk.

Can't do it...no artistic ability...but a tall glass of chocate milk with a straw in it and sluuuuuuuuuuuuurp! down to an empty glass would be a cool beginning-of-a-film bumper.

That's a Nestle's Quik commercial.

(I think Quik makes better milkshakes than Hershey's.)

I think Missy Elliot makes the best milk shake.
It brings all the boys to the yard ... or so I've heard.

hey as a cool animation for the front runner it would be cool to start with it all chocolate rather than the gradation and then have a couple of slurpiing sounds and have the gradation push down so the white shows at the top in as it appears now ... less literal idea than teh glass but same message ... an Alex joint is yummy goodnezz. you could have the sound of a kid smacking his lips and saying ... mmmmm ... or something.

... as a end bumper you could have the rest of the chocolate suck out of the letters with slurping sounds (like you finished drinking the movie) and then have a kid burp.

That's a great idea. Thanks Jack. If noone comes up with something animated by the time the Herofest deadline rolls around I'll tinker around and figure out how to make this happen. Doesn't sound too complicated.

just ask owen "please" for the same logo as a png file with the transparant letters rather than the gradation

then ask "please" for the gradation as a seperate image file that goes from a band of all white to a band large enough to fill in the letters with all chocolate.

then drag the gradation onto one track in yout NLE and the png with transparant letters above that

then you can just slide the gradation up and down as needed behind the png matte above it with the slurp sound effect

I think it would be cool also if the logo started smaller and then bumped closer with each slurp

all of that you can do in your NLE just manipulating the PNG file as a matte and the graphic gradation below it

I think it might actually be cooler that way than a super slick animation, more monty python

Photoshop file -- yes. PM me your e-mail address. However, this is a really simple "logo" ...it hardly even qualifies to be called such. It's really just the font "BadaBoom BB" with a photoshop gradient effect added to it.

OWEN!!!! Don't give our secrets out...just churn out the logos, then smile as you take them to the bank (just don't forget my 35% cut)

It is? Guess that's what comes of not being around commercial tv for 20 years or so. I've forgotten what they look like. :(
