RES.com is holding a trailer editing contest for A Scanner Darkly. they provide DX, FX and MX splits and some additional clips to remix the official trailer. i probably have an unfair advantage being that i've cut trailers for a living (Sideways, Sharkboy and Lava Girl, etc) but i'm entering anyway. if anyone here decides to do it, post a link here to your cut!

We might give this a try... although I think the trailer they already have is perfectly good so it might be hard to top.
 
I'm waiting for the darned downloads to start.

Dude, is the Music M83? I hope it is. I can't DL it yet!
 
I tried working on this junk earlier. Really tough if they're just limiting you to the two clips they gave you. It's sort of useless having the other voice clips in there without any images to go along with them. I like the trailer fx clip though. Kind of neat to hear some pre-made ones without other tracks over them, since a lot of people ask about those types of sounds.

i suppose for this contest it isn't a requirement. but if you want it to resemble a real trailer, the mpaa requires that the green band be up for exactly five seconds without fades, followed by exactly one second of black before the first frame of the trailer.
