Anyone have opinions on who makes the best base/rods for the DVX100?

no idea, but guarantee you, just like anything else, its going to be over $100.
It seems like any piece of video equipment is outrageously expensive, for what you are really getting. For example (Not to criticize the DVX at all, because i love the camera), But the $4000 camera, in reality, probably only costs no more than $1000 or less to make. But what can we do, its a billion dollar industry and we are forced to pay the prices even if we don't like it.
