OMG Blaine, I totally didn't see that on your list or mean to offend at all! I saw that movie too, cause of my sister... but didn't like it... anyway... sorry man.
That's okay. I expected a little flak for it, anyway...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Yank...

That was Jessica Rabbit  (in the first laserdisc edition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit)...also, on the same disc, disgruntle animators drew on an on-screen wall, "For A Good Time, Call Mikey @ --- ----"(and it was Eisner's ACTUAL home number!)

The Little Mermaid was the one with the "phallic undersea castle" on the video cover. Even though it's a children's video...I don't want to risk violating one of the "Big Three" by posting a pic, so if ya wanna see it: http://www.umich.edu/~onebook/pages/images/bigmermaidcover.jpg

Those zany animators.:2vrolijk_08:

It's hard for me to judge "Dead Poets Society" objectively, because it was so intertwined emotionally with 1989 -- HUGE year for me. The spring was my last semester of high school; the fall was the start of my freshman year of college, and WHAT a fall . . . the Berlin wall fell; everything felt so historic, so huge, and of course I and my closest friends were all at that perfect, innocent age when we all got drunk on BIG and DEEP THOUGHTS. DPS was a huge part of our lives and our culture and to this day, most of us still have posters of it up.

Watching it today takes me back and I'm that 18 year-old kid again, full of life, potential, and with great things ahead, before everyone moved on, got married, had kids; before a few of us died. It's not even a movie to me; it's a piece of identification.

Great story, David.

I also see films as punctuation for key moments in time (along with cigars...hense my two great passions in life.)

Good stuff.
