What can you produce for bands besides music videos?

I was wondering what other type of videos you are producing for bands besides music videos? A price range for each type of video would help too.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Are you asking about what other types of videos people could make for bands? You could do a biography video of them, your market would be web-based... or you could put together a press packet for album promotion. That'd entail interviews with the band, a sample of their music and anything else that would seem appealing to the press.

Are you trying to expand your services for bands?

Yes, that kind of stuff. A business contacted me that makes posters, CD packaging and other print-related materials for bands was wanting to know what kind of video-related things are being done these days for bands to promote them or to include in a DVD/CD bundle. Since they are already in contact with these bands doing their print/CD products, they also wanted to offer video whether they contract it out or do it themselves.

They were also seeking fixed package prices instead of a per hour rate. They have their services set up as package prices when doing these bands print/CD materials and wanted the same for video since it is easier for bands to understand package prices.

EPKs, mostly. A lot of bands (usually new ones) will have EPKs to be released prior to the album. Of course this is usually entirely funded by the label and I'm guessing it would be pretty rare to see a band finance their own. But who knows. The music video landscape is changing pretty quickly.

I recently produced a EPK for a singer. I produced it much like how MTV does that show "DIARY". I followed this singer around for about a year or so collecting footage and then putting everything together for a finished product. You can do concert footage, Public Appearances, or just shoot them out of their element. Some people go the length of shooting mini documentaries of bands which in a way could be like an EPK.

I agree with these guys in regards to EPKS. That is where the money is if you are targetting unsigned bands. Most don't have the cash to shoot a full on video because they are not at that stage, but they can afford you to go shoot live footage and possibly an interactive dvd with their bios and links on it.
