I understand this technology exists but why isnt it being pursued ?

He's an adaptor of technology. He didn't invent hydrogen power.

Nonetheless, there have been numerous hydrogen-powered 'prototypes' over the years, but no automotive company has dumped enough $$ into it to bring it to the market. Not to mention the oil companies would probably use their influence to dissuade interest in development of such vehicles.

With all the attention and furor over today's fuel costs, I believe manufacturers are finally beginning to see the light. They mentioned a possible deal with an auto maker in the article.
