Confession of a Single Man

I'm single, well dating someone, but not really involved involved. I just wanted to brag on myself real quick because tonight rather than doing what I always do (ordering pizza, picking something up to go, getting fast food, going to the grocery store and getting some prepared food) I cooked dinner.

This is the first time I've cooked a thing (beside ramen, and that's just water) since new years when I made veal for 12 people.

I can't cook. I have been known to ruin ramen, and thats just boiling water for a couple of minutes. The only thing I can make is veal or meatloaf and that's because it's specific times that you cook it. Chicken escapes me because it's 11-16 minutes. Well that doesn't make sense. Why can't it be just 14 minutes?

Regardless, tonight I cooked dinner, eggs, bacon, and jello.

I'm very proud of myself and just wanted to brag on me for a moment. Maybe tomorrow I will try chicken.

Hey Jeremy, I don't cook either. . . that's what wives are for :)

Ok ok, please don't ream me for saying it, but you all know us guys would never get a descent meal without the female half of the population.

Plus wives are good for many more things than just cooking, like doing the dishes and laundry :)

Your a better cook than me. Pizza and fast food is something I relate to very well. Keep cooking, it's a better way to go.

LMAO!

Dude, I'm just proud that I was able to cook something. Do you know how hard it is to fold an omelet over? I almost took a picture because I was that impressed with my work.

Dude

I am the cooking masta '

Give me a bottle of wine and I'll be in the kitchen all night happily. I'll teach you Cornmeal Catfish in Wilmy soon enough

Like John, I can cook almost anything....But ****ing Jello eludes me! I can never get that stuff right and that pisses me off to no end cos I LOVE JELLO! Specially RED!!!

The jello was easy, I mean, I made it.

Boil 1 cup of water, add mix, stir. Add one cup cold water, stir, put in fridge for four hours. It's black cherry and tastes yummy...

Here's how pathetic I am... I sent my mother an email telling her that I cooked tonight. I'm almost thirty and this impresses me.

Does any of the wine actually make it into a dish John? Or does drinking it turn on your super chef circuits?:)

I really enjoy cooking, too, especially with wine. Sometimes it even makes it into the food...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I bought a thing of knives at target... They're Faberware.

They came in this little turn style thing and included a plastic spatula. I like the word spatula. It has a big spoon also, but I don't know what I would do with a big spoon.

Hope they're not serrated knives - I don't know how anyone uses those things. Give me a single sharp chef's knife and that's all I need 99% of the time. I love to cook (because I love to eat. a little too much.) Baking, though... forget it. That is a true art form that takes years to master.

That's so weird, I just recently started trying to cook as well. Tonight I made asparagus, rice and garlic bread.

And I recently learned chicken and over-easy eggs. Sweet.

(I haven't had fast food in about a month, and let me tell ya, at least once a week, I contemplating the In-n-Out that's down the street.)

TC cooks me some good eats. I need to learn to cook more myself. It's easier to grab a quick bite somewhere sometimes! Or, "cook" a sandwich!"

If offensive comments which I like to post on a regular basis have no place on this forum, than so should be the same for un-related content with regard to filmmaking. No offense, your post is great, or so from what I blinked at because it really doesn't have a place here, but go to martha stewart.com for this greatness amigo.

I guess i'm trying to politely say, take it somewhere else oprah, this is a filmmaking forum for techies, business people, and creative types alike, use it for what it is, don't get to comfortable, and pm the bogus material to people who care.

Thank you, Tyler

So you didn't know this thread was in the Cafe? ha! You got angry for no reason.

As far as why your "GW the Dictator" keeps getting deleted, at DVXuser we have only a few rules to keep the peace. We can NOT discuss religion, the mac/pc rivalry, Barry Green's resemblence to certain rock stars, or politics. ESPECIALLY Nicaraguan politics of the mid 20th century! That is still a touchy subject for many.
