So, here I sit with 350 DVD copies of Torn

Jay, got to watch Torn over the weekend and here is my Siskel&Ebert. I thought the acting wasn't that good, watching it closely I kind of saw the girls almost smilling while doing the serious emotional kissing scenes, the acting wasn't bad, but it could of been better.

Now what I loved about it was the Cinematagraphy, the colors you use was great, I saw some bright colors in the background and just the whole Look of it was stunning. The Shaky thing gave it like that you're on a rollercoaster ride feel and it fit the story. Another thing I noticed was the sound quality. I liked the voice over but when I heard the dialouge, it kind of faded in & out with the music, hope I'm not being too picky, just thought I'd give you my honest opinion. Overall, I enjojed it. Specially the Look of it.

Keep up the good work.

I think the film looked fantastic. Especially the outdoor kissing scene. But the lead actress's crying seemed a bit forced. It just didn't feel real to me.

All and all I still dug it a lot. Can't wait for more, man.

Jay

Overall I liked it. Good lighting etc. Again the dialouge was too low volume, hard to hear what they were saying. The handheld was too shaky for me but others seem to like it so... Overall though very good. Can't wait to see your boxing video when it is done.

First I'd like to thank all of the DVXUsers who extended their hand by supporting the DVD a while back. You guys helped curve some of my pain at that time...

Thank you, I owe you guys.

Now, I'd like to share my last completed film, Torn, with everyone.

http://www.itchyhousefilms.com/films/torn_full.mov (might be best to right click / save target as)

This was shot in one 18 hour day.
Crew was only me, 2 grips and a make up artist.
Cast was three.
Locations were three.

DVX100a shot in 24pa
35mm adapter with Nikon lens
Edited and CC'd in FCP
used a home made dolly in two scenes
ADR was done with the on board DVX mic

Anyway thanks for your time,
Jay

Hey Jay! Glad to see you finished the film! As you know, I think this film is incredible. Are you still planning to run this through the festival circuits, I really believe this has a chance?

Hey Daniel, long time no speak, ha. Thanks for the compliment. I believe we're going to run this trough. I actually buried the film for a while because the producer got pretty ugly on me for a while but everything looks like it's cleared up. I'll know for sure this monday but I'll keep you posted on it.

What have you been up to? Send me a PM.

Thanks Brandon.... Yes, the boxing film was put on hold due to $$ issues but we're past that now. We're scheduled to finish our last day of filming on the 14th of this month!! WOOHOO! lol
