audio check list, what's missing?

Hey Charli in Charge... Take a look at this neat item that could come in handy on occasion with your new C-stand and boompole.

Also, here is it's smaller, less-expensive (and currently out of stock from B&H) cousin.

oh ok. and here i was thinking it was just something children always want to eat but are too scared to due to the "DO NOT EAT AS YOU WILL DIE!" labels.

Nope. They just absorb an insane amount of water in a relatively short time (good for damp gear, bad for digestive system). They're great for avoiding that funky portabrace smell.

Terry - thanks, got it on my bookmark to get.

Uh, hogshair, NEVER heard of that before and when I froogled it, only one
company sells it online. I'm not sure I'll be filming in the rain. It only rains here
in the winter/spring (25 days of rain in March) and then it's over.

I really need a second job or a sugar daddy.

Charli

Hogshair is a kind of coarse hairy matt that breaks up falling raindrops so you don't hear them plinking against the windshield or rattling against an umbrella, but the material is open enough that its more or less aurally transparent. They also come in handy in heavy snowfall and sleet, although they eventually get waterlogged and have to be swapped out for a dry one. Techniques differ, but I usually drape mine over the top of the wind shield, securing it underneath using quick-release cable ties.

They get awfully heavy, though.
