All of the leads from Casablanca had now left us, as actor Paul Henreid joins Bogey, Bergman, Rains, Lorre & Dooley Wilson on the "other side" :crybaby: - We suffered another major loss...the brutal murder of Rock and Roll itself, as Nirvana tops the charts (thus sounding the death knell.) Sorry, fellas...the good times are over. No more songs about partyin' with strippers...it's time to break out the flannel, and sing about suicide! :crybaby: - The end of an era is marked by the final Johnny Carson-hosted installment of The Tonight Show :crybaby:

A glorious and worthy sequel to the first one. Brilliant fight sequences. One of the few truly great sequels to equal and in some ways outperform their predecessor. Jet Li and Tsui Hark make a lethal combination.

If only for inspiring countless numbers of filmmakers around the world to try something that they might not do otherwise. Plus, it's a pretty sweet action movie all on its own, despite the budget. I tip my hat to you RR.

David Mamet's Pulitzer-Prize winning play is brought to the screen and gives us dialogue that Tarantino himself couldn't write. Baldwin gives his greatest performance EVER. Always Be Closing!

One of Jackie Chan's best films. Also known as Supercop. Amazing stunts, kick ass fights, adn loads of classic Chan humor. He is the definitve movie star in my book. Charisma, charm, and fists of fury. Not to be missed.

6. The Last of the Mohicans

Holy Hell. I love this film. Mann's best work to date. Great performances allaround, particularly Wes Studi as MUGUA. The real star here though is the stirring soundtrack, especially at the end. Highly recommended.

Terrific early 90's Woody Allen. Wonderful cast. Both funny and sincere. Among his best "Mia period" pictures.

4. Bad Lieutenant

Probably the greatest on screen performance I have ever seen. Keitel is utterly jaw dropping in this shocking, breathtaking film. It is a testament to the power and pulse of the cinema. Everyone should see this film.

3. The Crying Game

No matter what anyone says, this is one of the great modern love stories of the past quarter century. I can't say much else than that.

Take THAT Hollywood. Altman's masterpiece. Not the first. Not the last. Enthralling story. Funny as hell. "What took ya so long?"

Woo goes out in a blaze of glory. This is Woo's last Hong Kong film before he came to America and sucked ass for 15 years. It is his grand opus. No one can touch him or this film. He outdoes himself in every possible way, and that is no easy feat. Not only is this the best film of '92, but possibly even the decade.

I just bought it today, along with Munich, Unforgiven, Mae West Glamour Collection (which includes: I'm No Angel and My Little Chickadee), Chicken Little, Fever Pitch (that ought to piss off The Yankee) and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

I got a little carried away...:embarasse

I'm really looking forward to seeing The New World. If it looks half as good as Last of the Mohicans, it'll be spectacular. :thumbsup:
 
Wow you went crazy!

I was in search oif the 2 Disc Munich and no luck at BB, HoVid, Target or Wal-Mart

You believe that ?
 
i made the mistake of getting what i thought was the only release of Munich at Walmart... then i found out that there was a 2 disc special edition so i'm on my way out here in a few minutes to return Munich to Walmart and tell them it wouldnt work in my dvd player and get a refund then go to Best Buy and get the 2 disc edition.
 
I know we've drifted off topic, but I can't find the 2-disc Munich anywhere. What's going on?
 
i got mine at best buy finally today... the film isn't being distributed very well... the employees at my best buy didnt even know there WAS a 2 disc edition.. i'll be back later with my top 10 so as to get back on topic

Just watched Fever Pitch today and enjoyed it for light entertainment. I'll be watching The New World tomorrow. :)
