what do many of you use while capturing "interlaced or progressive"?
im tryin to figure out what is better..

You mean like in Vegas when you're setting up the project settings? Are you calling the capture the one you do from cam into NLE? If so then I'm having trouble seeing where it even matters... man is there ever a huge difference in Vegas and Premiere... in Vegas you can set the capture settings to anything and the output settings to anything and the NLE doesn't seem to care at all... Premiere would freeze up on me anytime anything wasn't balanced like a 10' Jenga game... "oops... you shouldn't have hit that button... jenga fall down."

With Vegas? Any setting... doesn't matter in my experience.

i am using fcp5 ... is it better to capture footage from the camera in interlaced or in progressive?

You set up the capture settings to the mode you shot the footage with.
If you have interlaced material, tell your NLE to capture interlaced.

well how do i know if my camera is in interlaced or not? is there a setting for that? lol

ok lol i am new to this whole filming and capturing thing... i usta be the one being filmed and then the footage would be sent to me to be edited :) but thanks... i think i learned something lmao
