A Bit Old, But A Beautiful Mind

I dusted this DVD off, popped it in, and was reminded about its incredible story, acting, and cinematography. Perhaps one of the greatest examples of effective special effects integration (i.e. "the changing of the seasons" scene, some of the trees were bare before effects, and the makeup). What do you guys think?

An enjoyable film from the Hollywood bubblegum popcorn mill. I enjoyed it, but it falls in the same category as Seabiscuit or Cinderella Man. I think it's a better film than Seabiscuit, I'm just lumping it into the category where you hear the overblown orchestral music that causes the drones sitting next to you to immediately break down in tears.

You know you'll enjoy it, and it's created to pull at your heartstrings, but I don't think it holds up to repeat viewings.

Just my opinion, and I'm two parts cynic. :)

i thought it was good, but it's one of those movies that i like the first time, but have to wait a long time before seeing again

Thought it was good, although I hate Russell Crowe. Not for his acting, just his personality. But hey, his band rocks! lol.

Not a big fan of Russell Crowe "the person" but I must say I enjoyed A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator, Master & Commander, The Insider, Proof of Life, L.A. Confidential.... Haven't seen Cinderella Man yet.

Cool movie, but you get easily past it. ! Insider is far far memorable. I love it for it's slow pace and the TV guy Al Al Pacino.

I really didn't get movie. I mean, I know he is meant to be this brilliant mathmatician, but I will take a beautiful ass over a beautiful mind or heart any day of the week. Maybe that's just me though.

It would have been a better film had Rob Zombie directed it.

I didn't really dig it. The whole thing seemed a bit contrived. Some true stories just don't transfer well to the big screen.

That being said, it's been a while since I've seen it, so I'll check it out again.
