I could only find one post mentioning the Panasonic AG DV1000 and several regarding the Sony DSR 11.

Anyone have experience with either one? Comments? Feedback? Recommendations?

I can get either one below 1k in almost new condition.

Appreciate the comments or suggestions as I am on production and don't have the luxury of reading through all the threads.

Thanks!

ive worked with the sony dsr 11 its a great deck just be careful with tape lables getting stuck. ive never used a dv1000.

If the unit is in good condition, you simply can't go wrong with the DSR-11; it's solid piece of pro equipment.

Thanks for the posts. It does seem the DSR-11 is the standard. I do like however, the added features on the Panasonic such as audio dials and a time code display. I also am looking at jumping up to the Panasonic AG-DV2000 for its added jog dial and ability to take both tapes. Not sure its necessary though. If everything can be done through an NLE, all those features may in the end not be used. It seems I can't go wrong with either choice with Sony being the 'no brainier'.

Not new to shooting but definitely new to editing and the workflow setup.... the learning curve is alive and well.

Thanks!
