£100K Prize for a short

Chaps,

Is anyone else sick of short competitions that you enter and which offer a screening and a couple of grand and pretty much nothing else? You can make another short with the money if you're lucky enough to win I suppose. But what if the prize was big enough to make your first indie feature?

Just out of interest, if you heard of a competition for short films that offered a prize of £100K and say runner up prizes of £50K and £30K and you had a film you thought was great - how much you be willing to pay to enter? £100, £50, £10, nothing!? That and introductions to industry folk along with it.

Bear in mind that this could be for films originated on any format of, any length (up to feature), shot at any time either recently or years ago.

What would be the clincher in making you think, what the hell, my films great I'll do it?

Be interested in your thoughts.

Jeff
