Build your own fig rig for the HVX

Just when I was about to order a fig rig for my (not-yet-existant) HVX, I was thinking that something like this could be easily built on my own - less expensive, more versatile.

What do you guys think: Does the fig rig have to be CIRCLE? Why not SQUARE? Would it make much easier to put it down...:beer:

I think you're on to something, but I'd cut the corners and make an octagon shape.

I think the PVC tube something is, uhm, well, interesting
I'd rather stay with aluminium profiles.
Dat, the octagon shape is a good idea. That's easy to do with the profiles. I used 'em before to make a DIY teleprompter.

Don't know. I have a Vinten Vision fluid head and I'd just put the Manfrotto plate on top of the Vinten plate and leave all this fixed on the head.

The plate's model # is MA357 (combo), just the plate is 357PLV. Supposed to be compatible to the 375PLV system, whatever that is.
