This is supposed to be a big bad light. I worked with it today with OnDemand tv in Panama City. They had 3 DVX 100B's with the light mounted and were using it on the beach.

I have an ME-66 mounted on top of the DVX-100B, but the mount for the mic is on top of the camera, where the Litepanel would ideally go. Any suggestions for what I could do to keep the mic (I have it attached via an 18" XLR) on the camera with the LED? I'm not sure it's possible. Maybe have the mic mounted under the camera somehow and the light on top? It just looks too delicious with an LED mounted on top.

B & H and other retailers sell adapters for the accessory shoe that will give you 2 shoes, one high and one low. Or you could use the DVX's microphone mount. I was watching "The Insider" and they had their on camera lights off to the side of the camera, on an arm, it was almost at a 45 degree angle. It actually looked like an LED light or a flo.

In one of the LITEPANEL packages you can get an extension arm for the light to be mounted on. I believe the arm mounts on the "cold" shoe. You can place your mic in the mic holder and adjust the extension arm so it sits above the shot gun mic. I have 8 days to decide if I am gonna jump on this deal.

www.filmtools.com also has a special on those lights.

Those jointed arms look sweet.
I could put the mic in the dvx's mic holder, but the ME-66 sticks in the shot with a windscreen, so I have a mic holder mounted on the cold shoe.
With that bracket product stuff it looks like a T bracket goes on the cold shoe, then you can attach a mic and a light to the T bracket and position them however and lock it. I didn't see any prices on the website though, sneaky marketing.

Are those Noga Articulating arms (link in post #3) really worth $185? Does anyone know where to get them for cheaper than that? Ebay maybe?
