The Sony MFM-HT75w 17" HD/Computer Monitor.

It has Component HD in, 1280x768 resolution, 800:1 contrast, good blacks and is small enough to fit inside a Pelican 1550 case. The only real drawback is that response time is a little slow, there is a slight amount of ghosting but it's tolerable for the price, size and performance. It also makes a fantastic playback monitor from a powerbook.
You can hook the camera up via component and the monitor up via DVi and when you want to look over a shot you just switch inputs and BAM! Full HD playback from FCP.

All this for $599.00
I got mine at Frys.

And with the built in TV tuner you can watch the game during lunch.

I think it would especially if you calibrate it with a spyder2pro. A little small for photos tho - Apple 30's & Dell 30's are great for that!

Thanks, but I'd prefer a baby-spud to plate adapter. I can make this easily, but I'm just wondering if Evin had sourced a proprietary plate for this specific monitor.

I got it at 599$ CND + 150$ rebate at Stamples... but this monitor is discontinued, so you wont see much of them anymore.

Has anyone heard more about the Dell 2407 in recent weeks? Is it pretty much the same as the 2405? I want an editing monitor to use for HVX 200 footage with a new MacBook Pro. I had planned to get a 23" HD Cinema Display but the raves about Dell's 24" LCD are impressive, as is the lower price. Thanks.

update: Actually as soon as I posted this I noticed the Dell won't work with a Mac, so I guess it's back to the Cinema Display.

This monitor doesn't seem solid and hard-core enough for a production monitor. Does it have a blue only switch? What about powering off of 12v DC?

But good price!
