is this 2x telephoto lens worth buying?

I wouldn't recommend it. It's really cheap glass and it will hurt your image quality. Everything I've heard from people who've tried it suggests that it's worthless.
 
I just got this lens in a package deal. It's the "Pro" version. I just mounted and un-mounted it and for the life of me I cannot see any difference in distance when I am at full telephoto. Unless I'm missing something, it would appear that this lens does absolutely nothing.
 
Stay away from thes lenses, they are useless... USELESS, I tell you!

Century Optics has a monopoly on good quality lens attachments. Stick with them.
 
I have the Century optics 1.6X. It's only 60% longer than the camera lens, but it's very sturdy and the picture quality is great.
