Cool event being held near me

Hey, one of the cinemas by my house is holding a special event tomorrow night. They're showing The Evil Dead movie on the big screen for the first time in 24 years! It's a midnight showing and the tickets are $12. Some of the makeup people will be there, and maybe with Spiderman 3 being shot in Cleveland, Sam Raimi may show up, along with Bruce Cambell. That would be sweet. I'm trying to get my ticket. I hope I get to go.

For the first time in 24 years at THAT theatre. Evil Dead is shown at midnight shows all the time.

That's awesome though, I hope Raimi and Campbell show up!

Wait a minute, do you live in LA? Is this taking place somewhere near me? Do I have new plans for tomorrow night?

i live in Ohio sorry TC.

this is actually the kick off of a midnight showing series. every weekend this theater will be showing a different movie at midnight, kinda like the Rocky Horror Picture Show events but with different movies each week. i'm so excited. finally, i have something to be proud about in my city LOL

Don't you ever have class TC? You keep saying you're in school, but you're always on here...what gives?

Since I was a transfer student I got the shaft with registration dates, and only got into 2 classes this semester. By fall I'll have a load and a half.

Don't give me those excuses!!!

Seriously thought, that's a tough break...hopefully next semester will be better.

Yeah, it'll be fine. No worries.

Everytime I see your banner it makes me anxious for Spider-Man 3.

Oh yea...I have been a Spiderman fan for as long as I can remember. It was a dream come true when the films started coming out. I can't wait for this next one!

keep you eye on the Nuart Theatre on santa monica blvd/405, TC. they've played it every now and then. so has the New Beverly Cinema, on beverly near la brea.

Sweet, I'll look out for those; I haven't been to an indie theatre since I moved down here.

Thanks!

I'll actually be in Santa Monica tonight or tomorrow, I'm going to check out Ashes and Snow.

well i went to the event and met and talked to and got Tom Sullivan's autograph. For those of you who don't know who he is he did the makeup and special effects for The Evil Dead. The actress who played Cheryl was there, and she was charging 5 bucks for her autograph, but Sullivan just signed whatever you wanted so I got my ticket signed by him. They had a little trivia thing at the beginning and whoever got the question right won a dvd of The Evil Dead. The movie came on, and the people who sponsored the event as well as Sullivan and the actress said they want screaming, yelling, laughing during the movie, so everyone was yelling stuff like "don't go in there!" "your friend is still a zombie don't forget about Scotty!" and stuff like that. it was a fun time. afterwards the group of friends i went with and i all went to IHOP right down the street and hung out till about 4 in the morning then i came home. I got my meal for free at IHOP because the person i was splitting the appetizer sampler with found a piece of glass in their drink.

the company that sponsored this event said that they want to start doing this once a month, and next month show the original The Hills Have Eyes or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Something to look forward to in good ole Ohio!
