Real Film Discussion - Recommend Stuff

Let's get this straight: this thread is about these cool little flicks you've always enjoyed watching, that for one reason or the other not many people (or at least not enough) may have heard of or seen, and that definitely deserve being seen, right? Stuff like Salton Sea, 12 Monkeys, Return of the living Dead mentioned here... Short Circuit, totally! Love both parts.
Films like Apocalypse Now and LOTR don't really belong here or this thread turns into another "List your Top 10 all-time favourites". Sides, I doubt there is a single person on these boards who haven't seen either.

Now, let me add one, that I've always liked since it first came out:

Screamers

A damn good sci-fi thriller, one of the better Dick adaptations. Love the desperate dark atmosphere, the authentic, realistic looking future and Peter Weller. It's just that it's on TV right now and I wanted to post it before I forget. Now back to watching it. Will add some more later.

I find that not enough people (that I talk to, anyway) have seen Scotland, PA. Three words, Head in fryer
Mean Creek is another flik I thought was good, I know it features a Culkin and all, but its pretty good.

El Maquinista was kind of stupid...

Very insightful
:)

It had a lot of good and bad points, but I mentioned it because I still feel that it is worth seeing. It was very successful in conveying a specific and consistent mood. Anyway, I learned a little from watching it.
