DSR-11 the cheapest?

Go to bhphoto.com and search for DV VCR. Here's the cheapest one:

Here's all of them:

This combo JVC unit does DV, DVD, and has an internal HDD--this is the one I'm getting:

Not sure if all of these decks are controllable through its Firewire interface. In other words, not sure if you can control the deck from within your NLE or not.

I believe the JVC decks were considered a little "problematic" a few years back, although I am not sure if those issues were resolved.

The DSR-11 is indeed what many consider the lowest cost PROFESSIONAL option, and it is a formidable performer.

Of course, a cheap and functional alternative is an inexpensive camcorder; which nowadays can be had for as little as ~$300 new.

who has a good minidv/dvd combo? also the dsr-11 is a player not a camcorder i dont think they sell for 300 but if im wrong where do they sell for so cheap?

DSR-11 is a DV recorder/player, and costs $1600 or so.

The $300-cheap-camcorder is an inexpensive alternative to the PROFESSIONAL DSR-11 (or other DV VCRs).

I'd love to see if the S-VHS Combo from JVC is working propperly theese days.

The DVD combo goes for 1600, wich is only 300 less than the DSR-11 and the Sony can record to large tapes. For me it's a no brainer, the Sony is a much better deal.

Yeah, exactly.

BTW, the DSR-11 is "only" $1600 also.
And: I see no problem in (in fact, I'd prefer to) getting a separate DVD recorder with 'DV in' if that is really what one would like to do.
