Pics of Letus Setup

I couldn't quite read the numbers on your tripod head. I have a 503 and I'm starting to worry about the weight. So what head are you using?

Hey Stef,

I don't see the DVX in that picture...oh wait, there it is....

:)

Would you like a camera with that mattebox sir? :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

That is one awesome set up. I see so many of these pics where ppl add such alloborate lens attachments that I got to thinking there has to be a lens like the ones found on the bigger cams with removable lenses that would work on the dvx.

Sorry Marlene, didn't see your question. Anyways, the head is the bogen 3063, predecesor of the 501, and the legs are the bogen 3060 legs, some of the best legs ever made IMO.
And really, in real life, the mattebox doesn't look THAT big, I think it's just the photo :) I swear I'm not compensating for anything, you can ask my wife :)

But once you start shooting with a mattebox, rods and 35 adapter, there really is not turning back, I could never use the dvx by itself again, it just doesn't cut it for me.

Wow, this thread is back from the dead once more.
My zoom is set at 72 and my focus is just slightly between MF6 and 7.
Hope this helps.

hey scarky lemmeask, when you are at that Z number, do you get a "choice" between the edges and the center being sharp in focus. My SGpro you kinda have to choose the middle ground where both are in focus or if you have enough light, close the iris down so the DOF gets deeper on the GG. Lemme know. :)

yes there is leway both in and out to adjust the focus, I have found that setting to be the sharpest overall, never really had an issue where I had to choose between the edges and the center, but yes I usually do stop down the DVX to about F4.5 which gives the best overall image that I have found.

Steph,
On both the Letus' I've owned, I can't get away with zooming under @ 85.
I can see the focusing screen under that number. Also the focus would be
in the 60's. I've heard tales of people using smaller numbers, but I don't
understand waz up...Don't we own the same camera & adapter.
Why so different? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Maybe you are using the original DVX100? The DVX100A and DVX100B both have better macro than the original.

There is a ring that comes with the Cavision mattebox, it is a 72-82mm circular ring that fits tightly inside the mattebox.
