Oh

my

god.

BRAVO.

They are so beautiful. If they were women, they'd be the hottest females on the planet.

Filmmaker, the DVX footage I do have was shot very quickly (4 cams tested in 3 hours)...with +6 of incredibly cheap macro. It was just shot to determine achromat specs, which are incoming. These are very nice 72mm optics, fully coated, to keep the DVX, HVX, HD100, and Sony HD cams happy on the Brevis.

So long story short, I do have DVX footage, but it's not representative of the adapter. There are three clips at www.cinevate.com done from my GS400 which are representative (The GS400, HC1 etc, require no macro/achromat). You'll also find all the info on the adapter at the cinevate site. There was a fair bit of discussion on posting this stuff and I decided not to, to save endless posts on why there was so much CA, softness etc. The HVX stuff I shot in 16:9 DV mode looked stunning.

Thanks guys for your kind words. Somehow they make the incredibly long hours a bit more pallatable. :-)

Yeah... I am going to desperatly see about getting some decent footage with a cheap macro set... hopefully with some tricks, I can get it to look good until the achromats come in... which will be awesome... after I shoot some footage that I feel is decent, I'll ask anyone who'd like to view it to PM me or something...

The macro strength for the DVX is pretty reasonable...so you may just do better than you think :-) It'll be a big relief to get the achromats in though.

Sounds like a good plan, Brice. I think Dennis asked us to keep the initial footage on the cinevate forum until the Brevis35 is fully functional (achromat, etc). Btw, which camera are you using? I'll have to wait 'cause I ordered a Canong fd mount :(

I won't be posting it publically here... but if someone wants to see some NICE footage from the Brevis, they can PM me.

I am using the DVX-100 (original) with the Nikon mount. I just purchased a Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens.

Rock and roll. You'll probably be a getting a PM for me...I'm hungry for some new footage while I don't receive mine.

Those pesky Canon FD mounts .... I know the wait's killing you :-(

There should be copious quantities of great footage incoming in short order. Technically, the production units are much more precise than the first testing unit I built. They benefited from custom assembly tools/jigs created by the machine shop.

The achromats will provide the last piece of the puzzle for the larger cams. I'll have the first evaluation unit in two weeks or so which means I can take the DVX and HVX out for another "spin".

Don't worry about it, Dennis. I'm not going to be shooting until May 3rd. I'm actualy taking a trip to Portugal to chill for a little bit ;-) We all know how hard you are working. When this is all done you should take a trip with your family too :D

Ok... it looks like I will not have footage till' Thursday or Friday, so for those who've PM'd me. I'll send out a link when I've got something decent (aka good) to show.
