Hell has frozen over, now which Mac should I get?

So,

In prep for a new feature, and I need a cheap Mac Notebook with PMCIA slots for dumping P2 cards too and possibly doing some capturing direct to the notebook.

So...what is the cheapest I can get away with? I'm a PC guy and Mac hardware is kinda myseterious to me. I'm thinking a Powerbook G4 somethin or other, but I gotta make sure it has enough RAM and Processor Speed to run FCP, and Firewire and USB 2.0 ports.... Is it even possible to pick up a used one for around $800...or should I just max out my cards and buy a new intel-based macbook?

Thanks all!

Super Ditto on the refurbs. As well, Mac Solutions has used and are usually reliable. Need at least 1gig processor, MAX ram and external 7200rpm FW800. On a feature you'll be suprised how fast the harddrive fills up. On our 2nd 500gig now. Once you go Mac.......

Need A Mac Option

Need A Mac Option

This is my first post, so let me thank everybody that has been posting here in the last year.
I've been following dvxuser for sometime, at a distance and have gained much insight and vaulable knowledge. I have a HVX which is some two weeks old. And it does what it says on the can. Now i need to purchase a refurbished powerbook or Macbook pro out here in Pal land. Anybody know where l can pick one up in Norway.

The plan is to use 2 4gb P2 cards then off load on to a G-TECH 500GB FW400/800, HHD.
While using the laptop as a field monitor then edit on a desktop.

Kind Regards
THE HONEST LIAR
