Looking For Best Dolly @ $5K

I am looking at the Matthews and the Premier dollies. I like the look of the Premier PD-1. Anyone have other dollies they can recommend?

Even though Premier don't make the [FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Cameleon Dolly[/FONT] any longer, you may be able to find it used. The weight isn't too bad. It should be heaveir than a PD-1, and weight with a dolly can be a very good thing.

I'm a huge fan of the PD-1 and have been since having the chance to use one of the early prototypes. Here's a picture of me on one while shooting a commercial for Segway:

This was with the SPX800 and was actually my first shoot on P2. The PD1 handles it perfectly and the HVX with equal grace. Here we had the wheels locked in round mode to do a circle move without track. The shot looks great.

I've used the Chameleon as well but the PD1 wins out in my mind. It's light but sturdy and very well engineered.

It's like having a mini Fisher10 that you and buddy can toss in the trunk of your car.

Let me know if you have any specific questions on the PD1, I've spent about 30 hours on one.
