Interesting take on 3 Act Structure

I don't know, I often like movies that break from traditional three act structure, but it sounds to me like he's just pitching another formula to sell books and $350 fees to his "master class" just like Robert McKee. If it's helpful, I suppose it's worth it. But why is his insistence that every story must be based on some problem any less formulaic than three act structure? Where’s the problem in “My Dinner with Andre,” for example?

I´ve just seen FIREWALL: Not a revolutionary movie at all, nothing that will change your point of view about life and the universe. But great craftsmanship for sure. And there are 3 acts and the turning points are there where they belong to be with the precision of a clock (I watched my clock) It worked great. There are many other possibilities to tell a story or a movie, I don´t doubt that. But the 3 act structure is a great tool that fits perfectly the needs of screenwriting and moviemaking.
