Just fooling around with some ideas and really liked this one:

Just my thought. Like it but the "love is like war" reads love is... like war when if you put the is on the second line it could read love... is like war.

From what I saw in the trailer this is a no-brainer!

You made a movie about chicks kissing. What do you THINK should go on the poster?!

HELLO MCFLY! DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SEE YOUR MOVIE?? :2vrolijk_08:

doesnt look like a poster. looks more like a still from the film with text...

i dont get the dots.

have a look at this...

http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=movie%20poster&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wi

maybe cropping in on the eyes and blowing it up would be better...

EDIT - just noticed you sig...it works better as a poster.

maybe go the more standard route with the aspect ratio...punching in on the left side of her face could be nice..i dunno...just ideas...

Hey Jay ? Give us some full size high rez stills and I'll start designing ! (Come on community!)

I think it looks too plain. I am by no means good at photoshop yet, but this is what I was able to throw together.

I think it need more information too. Like Directed by Jay, a Coffee Production, etc. And some form of border even if it is just plain black. Also, I agree that it should be longer than it is wide.

Hope I wasn't too harsh. It is a good shot to represent the title, I think it just needs some punching up.

I started messing around, then it struck me that you are likely designing a poster for the WEB, meaning you've got more freedom in aspect ratio etc...

I do like your horizontal approach with the wall space as a place for your info though.

Now that is nice! Good job Owen.

I agree with all of you. I need to make a poster for two purposes. One: for web. Two: to include in my festival submissions so they can hang in the theaters.

I started working on my above version simply out of nervous energy while everyone was reviewing my "private screening" which was way cool! I highly recommend showing your next films this way as it was fun as hell for all of us.

Now I have to head into that thread and my PM box to read and respond.

Anyway, I REALLY like your direction in what you did Owen.... It's right on.

Rich, I love the concept. It feels a bit plain though. I almost feel like an idiot saying that to you because I respect you work so much.

Alex, keep playing with Photoshop, you'll fall in love with it sooner than later!

Full size image will come in a couple of hrs. I'll go work on that as soon as I can get away for a few minutes.

Thanks everyone!
Jay

Dang Rich -- if that's what you slap together AFTER midnight there's no need to get up early. Love that one!

You're right, it needs help as it was just thrown together last night, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm looking forward to watching John Hudson and PK Gillock work together. :cheesy: :)

Aren't you missing an (well, THE) important . . . story element . . . here?

Yeah yeah -- but I didn't want to have to be the first person to actually GO THERE!

No no -- read closer! John Hudson IS Pk Gillock. Those clowns can't get along on set. Always trying to one-up each other. Hudson with his Christopher Walken impressions and PK insisting the he wear a helmet in every shot. Much better just to case one as the other and get the best of both worlds.
