How do I synchronize sound for music video?

Hi, I've been thinking about doing a music video where the actors lipsynch to the music but I'm not sure how to get their lips to match the song in post. I've heard alot about the importance of timecode but I don't really get how it can be useful. I'm only working with a single camera so I'll have to film the same thing over from different angles. What's the best way to get the music to match up with the actors singing and still get a good variety of angles?

You play what they are singing while shooting and they lip sync to that. If they are not singing to the music when you shoot you will never get it sync in post.

Should I play the entire song for every shot and then pick and choose later in post or should I just play specific parts of the song for different shots?

I prefer to go with the entire song for most stuff, but it's always handy to have segments just in case.
