OK Sports Fans

why would anyone want the headaches of running mlb? it has been so screwed up by Bud Selig that implementing fixes would be not very much fun. I'll take football which already has an effective salary cap and drug testing program. plus The Patriots already Rule the NFL, so I wouldn't need to change a thing (except nullifying the McGinest-Browns and Vinitieri-Colts signings of course!).

Drug Policy - Perhaps the current drug policy is more hardcore and I stand corrected; but let's actually step up the efforts on testing! It's one thing to 'Say it' in writing and another to actually be doing it.

Rose- Keep him banned. He broke the rules knowingly. He must pay. There is no grey area. It is Black and White. Did you, or did you not do it ?

He denied it forever and then eventually admitted guilt. For 15 years he denied it.

The guy is an asshole. He is one of the greatest players to play the ame and took it for granted. He even has been guilty of tax evasion. He is a greedy whore that atheletic accomplishments cannot cover-up (OJ Simpson anyone?). I know that's extreme; I'm making reference of celebrity / atheletes getting away with shi* because of stature or fame.



DH - What is this ? The Adult Rec League ? I can't help it Randy Johnson is a pussy at the plate. Are you here to play baseball or what ?

Pinch Runners - Same argument. "Awwwww.. is your leg hurt ? Is your knees hurting Mr bonds ... Are you getting old ? " Run the bases like everyone else.

Regarding Pete, I really do think that he should be in the HOF. Beyond that? Keep him banned. The lying about it bothers me.

I still disagree with you regarding your pinch runner just because it is a strategy, but I agree with the idea, I guess.

I still want to know what you think about tennis? I think that technology is ruining the game and we should take Mac's advice and go back to wooden racquets.

The DH sucks, plain and simple.

Pinch runners: at least the man being run for is removed from the game. If you want to use the DH, make it a pinch hitter, the player leaves the game and the pinch hitter has one shot...go NL. :thumbsup:

EDIT: Through is actions, Pete Rose has forfeited his position in the Hall. Just like Shoeless Joe Jackson before him. And Jackson may have just been a hapless patsy.

Wooden Racquets ... Ouch

How about make it more like Golf (Not a sport) and Hockey in terms of stick design ?

Have design restrictions on the racquets. This could be in the way of head-size (Smaller is more control, larger is power), racquet length (Chang used a longer racquet for serving purposes), string tension ...

Mandate a set professional level of requirements.

Perhaps make the service square more a strikezone of sorts by lessening the amount of space to serve the rock ?

-Pete Rose is banned. what is all this crap-o-la of putting him in the hall. banned for life is banned for life and he earned it. he can keep on signing autographs at $100 a pop at trade shows for all I care.
-AL plays the pure form of baseball with a DH and no pitchers hitting. Get over it.
-Interleague play is cool.
-All power hitting records from '95-'06 should be stricken from the books. All. Whether the name is Sosa, McGuire, or Bonds. They were all doped up.
-Yankees should only be allowed to spend 1/2 the league average for the next 50 years to make up for past inequalities.
-Roger Clemens should be required to finish his career this year as a Red Sox.

AL is pure baseball? I'm a life long Yankee fan and completely skewed and I can't even agree with that.

Power hitting records gone? Stil, even as against doping as I am I can't agree with that either.

Yankees payroll? Biggest market, biggest amount of money to spend. That simple in my opinion.

Clemens? OK, let's make him play for the Red Sox, not pay him, and bring back the days when players were servents and had to work during the off season.
