What do I Need to have the Optimal FPC editing suite.

Specs

I have a dual G5 power PC.
Memory 512mb DDR SDRAM
running OS 10
with a Sony DVD RW DW-U21A

The programs I have are:

FCP 4.5
Soundtrack pro 4
Live type for final cut 4
DVD studio Pro 3

I would like to know what i should up grade, which programs to get anything
that would help my independent Film Making.

Please DV brothers and Sister, help a fellow memeber out!

There is no such thing as Soundtrack pro 4. It's still version 1.

That being said, the G5's come with a decent video card, so Motion shouldn't be a problem. the only thing I suggest is cranking your RAM. I have 2gbs and that is as low as I would go.

Upgrade to Final Cut Studio. Get rid of LiveType
 
Ummm...what about storage? You're definately going to need some of that :)

Get an extra drive for capture and onlining. Maybe even an external enclosure with RAID functionality if you're adventurous.
 
If you're JUST doing DV then, as others have said, just get more RAM and a biiger drive.

If you start doing uncompressed SD, then get an AJA IO

If you are doing HD/SD then get a Jona LH with the BOB.
