What Camera to Rent for Big Job? HD, SD?

I have recently been offered my largest job to date. It's to shoot 4 local TV commercials. The shoot will be over 3 days and their budget is $25,000.

Should I go with the Varicam or do you think I could do it with an SDX900? I have no idea what kind of camera this budget warrants since I generally only do $2,000 - $3,000 spots with my DVX. I have training on the SDX and the DVX so I imagine if I needed to go with the Varicam, it wouldn't be a problem.

What do you think? SDX or Varicam? Or heck, would an HVX work for that budget?

Your help would be most appreciated.

Does it need to be shot on HD? I would waste money on an HD camera if you don't need to.

It doesn't need to be on HD but the client is used to shooting on 35mm. Their budget isn't as big this year so they asked me to get as close as I can with video.

It will not be broadcast in HD. It's a regional ad campaign for a hospital. When broken down, their budget is around $6,200 per spot.
