The Simpsons Movie

I checked out my first new episode in like 3 years recently.

But that was only because it was written by and guest starred Ricky Gervais. Otherwise I've lost interest in the show.

Blasphemy...still great show. Just got picked up for two more seasons me think. That said, man do I hope this movie doesn't suck.

I had read that its going to be pretty faithful to the tone of the show but just a little bit racier. So i doubt it'll be much like SP: B,L,U.

I think B,L, U was faithful and racier.

I guess what I mean is that I hope it's theatrical in style, and not just like 3 episodes of Family Guy shown one after another.

I'll definitely go see this movie when it comes to theaters, but I have to agree that the show has gone way down hill over the last 4-5 years. This film would have been a great if they would have used it to end the series.

I'm all for it, and the reason is this: This season has been awesome so far, and that's because they imported all the writers from Futurama. The episodes are actually telling stories, not just setting up gags. In the past few seasons (say, 13-16) the writers were just plain crappy. (Of course, with the exception of a few phenominal episodes.)

As long as the current writing staff is writing it OR they pull some veteran writers (say, seasons 4-7) this thing is going to be great.

Admittedly, I haven't caught The Simpsons recently as much as I normally do...

But a few of the episodes I did catch are among my favorite of all time. Most especially, the one with Liam Neeson stands out. It was called "The Father, the Son, and the Holy Guest Star", and had Bart and Homer converting to Catholicism.

Funny, funny shi*...catch it if ya haven't

they have gone through ups and downs but now they are mostly down but i still watch it. I wish futurama was still on with that show you couldnt go wrong because you had the future to play on and then the past and fake past etc. it was filled with storylines.

That should be a funny movie. the teaser was released really early to get fans going its only 29 secs but still good

There's been rumors going around that Futurama is coming back to Fox. Read something about in on IGN last month.

Actually the last rumor i heard discounted a return of the show however they are apparently working on several direct to DVD movies (4 to be exact.)
