Top 10 Films of 2001...

Actually i did like it.

I just never thought i'd see it brought up in conversation.

I always got the feeling it was one of those films people just don't talk about.

Kudos for having the cojones to toss it out there.

The Score, or as I like to call it...
The Vito Corleone Reunion.

...The only one missing from the party was

The Score felt so much like a Mamet film. Maybe thats why I loved it so much.

And Norton is in my top five actors working today. Okay, maybe top ten.

man i forgot about Amelie... i'll have to go back and edit my list and put it on there... i thought it was 03 for some reason....

My best of 2001

Amelie
Waking Life
Donnie Darko
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Ghost World
Memento
Black Hawk Down

Amores Perros (I think I will dig this movie but haven't seen it yet)
The Man Who Wasn't There (same with this one)
Mulholland Drive (same with this one)

My two top worst of 2001

1.) A.I. Artificial Intelligence (this film made me mad, it was so bad)
2.) Pearl Harbor (soap opera sillyness)

I dug about the first two acts of A.I.

That finale however just completely ruined the movie for me. As i understand it that last act was Spielberg's contribution also.

It certainly felt like Hollywood Steven. Totally needless.

Should've left him frozen and forever forgotten in the bottom of the ocean.

1. A Beautiful Mind
2. Fellowship of the Ring
3. Blackhawk Down
4. Enemy at the Gates
5. K-Pax
6. Monsters, Inc.
7. Frailty
8. Shallow Hal
9. Vanilla Sky
10. The Tailor of Panama

Honorable Mention:
The Pledge, Knockaround Guys, The Last Castle, From Hell

Am I the only one who thinks that this selection makes Hudson and Callaghan lose all credibility?

Wait, Calla ?

Are you saying Afleck had an Off performance in PH ? (I disagree)

With a few exceptions he is an "off performance". :)

I think Memento went to Sundance and other festivals in 2001, but was released in 2000? I think it was very late in 2000, but 2000 all the same I guess.

Oh, and stop making these threads, I'm getting nothing done.
:)
